About Belize
Located at the northeastern tip of Central America with more than 300 miles of Caribbean coastline, this former British Colony has now become the trade crossroads between the Caribbean and Latin America. Belize is bordered by Mexico on the North, Guatemala on the West and South, and the beautiful Caribbean Sea on the East. Belize is the only English-speaking country in Central America, although Spanish is also spoken in a few areas. It is more similar to Caribbean countries with respect to education, culture, politics, music, economy and legal system (English Law).
The country’s economy is based mostly on Tourism, Agriculture, and Trade. A stable currency is one of the attractions for foreign investment (US$1 = BZ$2). The Gross Domestic Product (GPD) grows an average of 2% every year while population grows by 6 %. It is estimated that the country’s current population is approx. 750,000 which includes retiree communities (from the US, England, Canada, Asia and European Union) but excludes agricultural immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico, which numbers to about 150,000. Belize is a favorite tourist destination due to the country’s endless attractions including, the second largest barrier reef to be alive, scuba diving, windsurfing, Mayan Temples, and Tropical Rain Forest just to name a few.
Tourism accounted for 39.2% of GDP (BZD 1,311.8 Million) last year and is forecast and to rise by 4.0% per annum to 42.8% of GDP BZD 1,944.9 Million in 2025. In 2017 Travel & Tourism directly supported 33,000jobs(16 % of total employment). In 2016 there was a record 1,005,394 cruise ship passengers arriving in Belize.

Northern Group successfully maintains both exclusive and non-exclusive countrywide distribution of world-known products from various prestigious companies with which it has developed and kept excellent relationships Over the past few years, Northern Group has grown from a start-up operation to a group of companies capable of serving a variety of customers in multiple segments of the industry such as Groceries, Over the Counter, Health and Beauty, Pharmaceutical, Medical and Dental products. We are strategically located in the Northern Districts which is located a few minutes away from the Mexican border and the Commercial Free Zone. The Corporate is owned and managed by individuals with major experience in Importation, Foreign Trade, Agriculture and Tourism Industry.
